Hello!
I'm a graphic designer with 13 years of experience, working primarily in the Phoenix metro area. I spent most of my years doing traditional design in the travel industry. I was responsible for everything from consumer facing brochures, books and pamphlets to internal materials like posters and human resource flyers. My responsibilities were not limited to print, though, and included digital graphics, website design and updates. In the past few years I have transitioned to primarily UI/UX design for a variety of start up companies and charities, while also doing some brand identity work.
Since I was a child I have been an avid collector of comic books and a fan of the funnies in newspapers. I was always an illustrator – starting as a cartoonist – but throughout my teenage years I became fascinated by all visual art forms, and I evolved into realistic and abstract styles, doing both drawing and painting.
My burgeoning interests were demonstrative of a fascination with composition, layout, and typography, which eventually lead me to a career in graphic design. Shapes, forms, words, and the relationship between these, are the central focus of my work. The way information and ideas are communicated through function and aesthetic continue to interest me to this day.
