Government Vacation Rewards is a program in partnership with various government and military services, which needed an overhaul to all of their virtual storefronts for various travel products.
The focus of this site was on the travel search widget, to promote bookings in an easy to understand and simple to use form. It was placed at the top with a solid color field background for maximum visibility, without any competing clutter. The search criteria fields changed according to the travel type selected in the widget's secondary navigation, along with the rest of the page content.
Directly beneath the widget, each page auto-played video content pertaining to the travel category type.
The site needed to be free for all to navigate, so that any user who wasn't a member could see the potential benefits of the program. Views were created for pre- and post- login experiences, including changes to the navigation and banners throughout the site, and a variety of modal pop-ups were designed and A/B tested in an effort to encourage users to sign up for the program.
A distinctive layout was designed for the offer cards, adding more visual interest with the addition of a title graphic per location. The use of multiple offers within each card maximized the space and provided the opportunity to use even more pictures of each locale.
Multiple pages were created to explain the benefits of different tiers of the rewards program. In order to foster user involvement and avoid the feeling of being an "info dump," basic mouse overlays were used in certain grid sections to reveal additional explanatory content; an efficient use of space and more attractive than simple bullet points.
